Question 1

How do I see how many people took my quiz and which results they got?

Accepted Answer

See starts, completions, drop-off, top results, attributes and sales.
Open Analytics from a quiz’s row in My quizzes (the chart icon, or More quiz actions on narrow screens), from the WordPress tab, or from See in-store results on the Device quiz screen.
The switch at the top chooses where the numbers come from:
• Website: visitors who took your quizzes on your WordPress site. The site keeps the counts; Selfscovery reads them when you open the screen.
• This device: guests who took quizzes here in Device quiz mode. These counts never leave the device.
For all quizzes or one, over 7, 30 or 90 days, you see:
• Started and completed, with the completion rate.
• Drop-off by question: how many saw each question, answered it, and left there.
• Visitors lean toward / pass on: attributes people chose most and least often when an answer offered them.
• Results: how often each was the top match, in the top 3, and clicked.
• With WooCommerce: store visits, added to cart, orders and sales from quiz visitors.
Numbers update right away. Quizzes published from an older version of the app need publishing again before they count.
Analytics are part of Selfscovery Pro. While Pro is paused, visits are still counted (on the site and on this device), and you see them again as soon as you subscribe.

Question 2

What kinds of answers can a Selfscovery quiz question have?

Accepted Answer

Radio, Multi, Text, Paragraph and Scale answers, and when to use each.
Choose the type under Answer type when editing an answer.
• Radio: pick one answer in the question. The usual choice.
• Multi: pick any number. Each selected answer adds its features.
• Text and Paragraph: the person types a response. Use Feature-trigger keywords to turn words into features, and Preview text as the prompt inside the box.
• Scale: a two-handle range slider between a Low value and a High value. See Scale answers.
You can mix types in one question, for example a Radio choice plus a Text box for anything else.

Question 3

How do I add and score answers in a Selfscovery quiz?

Accepted Answer

Add, edit, reorder and score the answers under a question.
Expand a question to see its answers. Tap Add answer to add one, tap an answer to edit it, and hold and drag the handle to reorder.
Each answer can carry:
• Feature weights: what choosing it says about the person (see Feature weights).
• Routing: which question to show next (see Routing).
• An image, and its own font and text color.
Tip: give every answer at least one feature weight, or it has no effect on the results.

Question 4

What are attributes (features) in a Selfscovery quiz?

Accepted Answer

The shared words that connect answers to results, like “Quiet” or “Spicy”.
Attributes are called features in the editor. A feature is a word that describes something a person wants and something a result offers, such as Portable, Quiet, Sweet or Budget.
Answers say how much a person wants a feature (Feature weights). Results say how much they have it (Result features). Selfscovery multiplies the two to rank results; see Ranking.
A feature is created the first time you type it on an answer or result, and then offered as you type elsewhere. Matching ignores capital letters, so “quiet” and “Quiet” are the same feature.
Tips:
• Use a small, consistent set of features, about 5 to 15 for most quizzes.
• Make sure every feature appears on at least one answer and one result, or it can never affect the ranking.
• Use negative weights to push results away, for example Loud −8 on an “Apartment” answer.

Question 5

How do I turn a CSV or JSON product list into a quiz?

Accepted Answer

Turn a CSV or JSON list of products or items into ranked results.
Create quiz → Create from catalogue file imports a list, and every item becomes a ranked result.
Only a name or title column is required. Optional columns: id, description, url, image_url, price, sku, category, tags, attributes and available. View file format guide shows examples.
Then choose:
• Create catalogue-backed draft: build the questions yourself, no AI.
• Design with cloud AI: AI writes questions around your catalogue’s features.

Question 6

How do I create a quiz with AI in one step?

Accepted Answer

Create a complete quiz in one step with your OpenRouter account.
Create quiz → Create with cloud AI writes a whole quiz, with questions, answers, results and scoring, from your description and any files you attach.
It uses your own OpenRouter account, which reaches models from OpenAI, Google, Anthropic and others. Tap Connect OpenRouter once, approve Selfscovery, and come back to the app. If that doesn’t connect, tap Use an API key: create a key in OpenRouter, copy it and paste it into Selfscovery. Manage account lets you set a hard spending limit on the key. OpenRouter charges its own account for the models you use, usually a few cents a quiz; Selfscovery adds no markup.
Generation mode:
• Best quality: a strong paid model for a detailed quiz.
• Research & links: researches current sources first, then builds a linked quiz.
Spending guardrail: Stop this run near $0.10 to $1.00. It is best effort, so the key limit in Manage account is the real cap.
Large catalogues, stores and database tables: the AI gets a summary of their attributes (features, categories, price range and a sample of items) and writes questions about those. Every item is still added as a result afterwards and ranked by the answers, so it stays quick even with thousands of items.
You can keep using the app while it runs; the AI job tab shows progress.
Prefer no AI? Build any quiz by hand, start from a store or database with Build custom quiz, use Create catalogue-backed draft for a catalogue file, or import an editor file someone shares with you.

Question 7

How do I build a quiz from a Postgres, MySQL or Snowflake database?

Accepted Answer

Rank a whole Postgres, MySQL, MariaDB or Snowflake table, even millions of rows, with a quiz.
Create quiz → Create from a database connects a Postgres database (also Supabase, Neon, Amazon RDS, Azure and Google Cloud SQL) or a MySQL 8.0.17+ or MariaDB 10.6+ database (also PlanetScale, Amazon RDS and the database a WordPress site runs on). Selfscovery only reads, through a read-only session; use a login that can only SELECT. The login stays in this device’s secure storage.
Snowflake: enter the account identifier (Snowsight → your name → Account → View account details), database, warehouse and user. Sign in with a programmatic access token (Snowsight → your name → Settings → Authentication) and Selfscovery adds a key for this device to your user by itself, so the token isn’t kept. Or choose No token? Use a key from this device and run the one line it shows in a Snowsight worksheet. Snowflake has no read-only session, so use a role that can only read.
Choose the items table, which column is each row’s key and which is its name, and where the attributes are:
• An attribute table: one row per item per attribute, with an optional score. Fastest at any size.
• Columns on the items table: a keyword list (an array, a JSON array or text with a separator, with an optional list of scores in the same order), a JSON object of scores, a column whose value is the attribute (Equals), a number column, or a true/false column.
Choose the attributes answers should weigh, try a ranking of the whole table, then build the quiz with AI or by hand.
The quiz keeps a snapshot: the best rows for each attribute and the rows matching the most of them, as ordinary results. Published and shared quizzes use it and never connect to the database.
When the table changes, or after adding attributes to answers, use Refresh from database on the quiz (part of Selfscovery Pro). Selfscovery also checks the snapshot against live rankings for sample answers and tells you how closely it matches.
Database settings on the quiz card adds or removes attributes, sets the quiz’s own filters (Only rows with, such as active; Never rows with, such as placed), and leaves out specific rows. The table itself never changes.
One device can keep several databases: switch or add one from the connection menu, which also has Test connection. If a quiz spells an attribute differently from the table (Marine for marine), refresh corrects it to the table’s spelling. MySQL and MariaDB match either spelling.
Live results: turn this on in Database settings to rank every row each time someone finishes, so new and changed rows count straight away. It works in a Device quiz on a device connected to the database, and on your WordPress site: publish the quiz from the device with the database connection, then add a read-only login for the database in WordPress under Selfscovery → Live rankings. For Snowflake, the site makes its own key and shows the SQL to run once in Snowsight. The site ranks the table itself; visitors only send their answers and see the top results. Shared HTML files, and anywhere the database can’t be reached, use the saved results.

Question 8

How do I run a quiz on a tablet or computer in my store?

Accepted Answer

Run a quiz on a tablet or computer for customers, on repeat.
Share quiz → Device quiz → Launch repeating quiz turns this device into a quiz station. Results clear themselves after two minutes so the next guest starts fresh; change this with Clear results automatically when editing the quiz title (see Results screen).
To try a quiz yourself first, use Share quiz → Preview, which has an Exit preview button and isn’t counted in analytics.
The player has no way back to the editor, so lock the device to Selfscovery first:
• iPhone and iPad: Settings → Accessibility → Guided Access.
• Android: Settings → Security → App pinning.
• Windows: Assigned access (kiosk mode) in Settings → Accounts.
• Mac: no built-in kiosk lock; supervise the device or use a management tool.
Test the owner exit code before leaving the device with customers.
Every guest run is counted on this device; open See in-store results to view them.
Quizzes built from a database can rank the whole table live as each guest finishes: turn on Live results in the quiz’s Database settings. The device needs that database connected; if it can’t reach it, guests see the saved results.

Question 9

How do I point an answer straight at one result?

Accepted Answer

Point an answer straight at one result instead of a feature.
When adding a feature weight to an answer, choose a result from the Feature or result field instead of typing a feature. It shows as Direct result link.
A weighted link adds the weight × 10 to that result’s score, a strong push. With Required to include, every other result is removed when the answer is chosen.
Use it sparingly, for answers that really mean one specific result. Features make quizzes easier to maintain.

Question 10

How do I use the Selfscovery quiz editor?

Accepted Answer

Find your way around the quiz editor.
Open a quiz from My quizzes with the edit button. The quiz title card sits at the top, with a Questions / Results switch below it.
• Tap the title, a question, an answer or a result to open its editor panel at the bottom. Drag the panel’s handle to resize it, and double-tap the handle to reset its height.
• Exit edit closes the panel. Delete removes the item after you confirm; deleting a question also deletes its answers and any routes to it.
• Hold and drag the handles to reorder questions, answers and results.
• Changes save automatically.
In Questions, a Routing preview and an Active feature preview show what the selected answers do.

Question 11

How do I score answers in a quiz?

Accepted Answer

Score answers: what choosing an answer says about the person.
Edit an answer → Feature weights → type a feature in Feature or result, set the weight, then Add feature weight.
Weights run from −10 to +10:
• +7 to +10 (Strong positive): this person really wants it.
• Positive values: a mild preference.
• 0 (Neutral): no effect.
• Negative values: steer away from results with this feature; −7 and below is Strong negative.
Matching rule changes a weight into a hard rule; see Matching rules.
Example: “Apartment” → Quiet +8, Loud −6. “Garage band” → Loud +8.

Question 12

How do I open a .quizbuilder file someone sent me?

Accepted Answer

Open a .quizbuilder file someone shared with you.
Create quiz → Import editor file opens a .quizbuilder file, or compatible JSON, as a new quiz you can edit.
Editor files keep everything, including images, fonts, scoring and routing, so they also work as backups. Make one with Share quiz → Save editor file.

Question 13

How do I score what people type into a text answer?

Accepted Answer

Turn words people type into features and routes.
On a Text or Paragraph answer, each feature weight can list Feature-trigger keywords, separated by commas. The weight only applies when the person’s response contains one of them. Matching ignores capital letters and also matches inside longer words.
Example: feature Spicy +8 with keywords “spicy, hot, chili”.
Keyword routes work the same way under Routing: Keywords, then When matched, route to.
Typed responses are never included in analytics.

Question 14

How do I recommend nearby stores or locations in a quiz?

Accepted Answer

Rank nearby results higher, and show distance and map links.
Results can have an address, coordinates, or both (Result destination → Save location). Answers can carry an Optional geographic signal on a feature weight.
When both have a location, the result gets a bonus: the full bonus for a matching address, and a smaller one the farther apart their coordinates are. Results show “km away” and a button that opens maps.
Use it for “stores near you”, local services or event venues.

Question 15

How do I make an answer require or rule out certain results?

Accepted Answer

Weighted, Required to include and Required to avoid.
Each feature weight on an answer has a Matching rule:
• Weighted: adds to the score (the usual choice).
• Required to include: when chosen, only results that have this feature (with a positive result weight) stay in the list.
• Required to avoid: when chosen, results that have this feature are removed.
Required rules filter but add no points. If every result is removed, people see “No applicable results remain”, so use them for true deal breakers such as allergies or budget limits.

Question 16

Which phones, tablets and computers does Selfscovery run on?

Accepted Answer

Selfscovery on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Android and Windows.
Selfscovery is available for iPhone and iPad and for Mac on the App Store, for Android phones and tablets on Google Play, and for Windows PCs on the Microsoft Store.
Every version builds, previews, shares and publishes quizzes, creates them with Cloud AI, connects to databases and stores, and runs Device quiz. The one difference is how you lock a device for Device quiz:
• Guided Access on iPhone and iPad, App pinning on Android, Assigned access on Windows. Macs have no built-in kiosk lock.
Your quizzes are stored on each device. Move them with Share editor file and Import editor file.

Question 17

How do I test my quiz before sharing it?

Accepted Answer

Take your own quiz on this device, results and all, then go back to the app.
Share quiz → Preview runs the quiz exactly as people will see it, including routing, ranking and live results.
A bar at the top says Preview and has Exit preview, which takes you back to the app. Answers in a preview aren’t counted in analytics.
Inside the editor, the Questions section is interactive too: select answers to see the Routing preview and Active feature preview without leaving the editor.
Preview is part of Selfscovery Pro.

Question 18

How much does Selfscovery cost, and is there a free trial?

Accepted Answer

What is free, what Selfscovery Pro costs and adds, and the free month.
Building is always free: create and edit as many quizzes as you like, with every AI option, database and store connection, and all the scoring tools.
Selfscovery Pro is $14.99 a month in the US (your app store shows the price in your currency). It puts quizzes to work:
• Publish and update quizzes on WordPress and Shopify.
• Preview quizzes and run Device quiz for customers.
• Share and save interactive quiz files and editor files, and export results.
• See analytics, in the app and in WordPress.
• Live updates: refresh quizzes from their database or store, and live rankings on WordPress.
Your first month is free. It starts the first time you use one of those, and you choose how:
• Try free for 1 month: the app store’s free trial, which becomes a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends. You can cancel straight away and still keep the whole month.
• Start my free month without payment details (Android and Windows): when the 30 days are up, Pro pauses until you subscribe.
Each person gets one free month.
When Pro is paused (the free month is over or the subscription ended), the home screen and the Pro screen say so, with a Subscribe button. Nothing is taken down: you can keep building and editing, quizzes already on your website or store keep working with their saved results, and visits are still counted. WordPress live rankings and analytics resume when you subscribe and open the app.
• Manage or cancel: your Apple Account, Google Play → Subscriptions, or account.microsoft.com/services; the Pro screen has a link.
• New device: sign in with the same store account and tap Restore purchases on the Pro screen.

Question 19

What data does Selfscovery collect, and where is it stored?

Accepted Answer

What stays on your device and what goes where.
Your quizzes are stored on this device. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to:
• Cloud AI sends your description and attachments to the model you pick, through your OpenRouter account.
• Publishing sends the quiz to your own WordPress site.
• WooCommerce product lists are read from your own store.
Passwords and keys are kept in the device’s secure storage.
Website analytics are anonymous daily counts kept in your WordPress database; quizzes never send what visitors type. In-store analytics stay on the device.
Subscriptions are handled by Apple, Google or Microsoft (and RevenueCat for Apple and Google); Selfscovery never sees card details. A free month started without payment details is remembered on the device only.

Question 20

How do I add and order quiz questions?

Accepted Answer

Add, write and reorder questions.
In the Questions section, tap Add question, then tap the new question to write it. Expand a question to manage its answers.
People see questions in order unless an answer routes them elsewhere (see Routing). The last question’s button reads See matches.
Good quizzes usually have 3 to 8 questions. Ask about needs and situations (“Where will you play?”) rather than features (“Do you want quiet?”).

Question 21

How do I create a recommendation quiz with Selfscovery?

Accepted Answer

Build, test and share your first quiz in a few minutes.
A Selfscovery quiz asks a few questions and then ranks results, such as products, menu items or services, from best match to least. You decide what each answer says about a person, and what each result offers.
1. Tap Create quiz and choose Create new quiz, start from your store, database or a catalogue file, or let Cloud AI draft one for you.
2. Write your questions and answers in the Questions section.
3. Add the results people can be matched to in the Results section.
4. Give answers and results the same features with weights, so answers point toward the right results (see Attributes and Feature weights).
5. Try it in the editor: the Questions section is interactive, so select answers and watch the Routing preview and Active feature preview. Share quiz → Preview runs the whole quiz, results included.
6. Share it: publish to WordPress or Shopify, run it on a device in your store, or save the interactive HTML.
Building is free; previewing, sharing and publishing are part of Selfscovery Pro, and your first month is free (see Pricing and subscription).

Question 22

How does Selfscovery decide which result is the best match?

Accepted Answer

How Selfscovery scores and orders results.
When someone finishes, Selfscovery looks at the answers they actually chose on the questions they passed through:
1. Required rules remove results first (see Matching rules).
2. Each weighted feature adds answer weight × the result’s weight for that feature.
3. A direct result link adds answer weight × 10 to that result.
4. Locations add a distance bonus.
Results are listed from the highest score down, with the Top match first. Ties keep the order of results in your quiz.
Example: “Apartment” gives Quiet +8. A Cajon with Quiet +6 scores 48; a Drum set with Quiet −5 scores −40.

Question 23

How do I score results in a quiz?

Accepted Answer

Score results: how much each result has of each feature.
Edit a result → Result features → type a Feature name, set its weight from −10 to +10, then Add result feature.
Positive weights mean the result has the feature; negative weights mean it is the opposite. Leave a feature off a result if it doesn’t apply.
Results can share features but can’t use another result as a feature.
Example: Cajon → Portable +8, Quiet +6. Drum set → Loud +9, Portable −6.

Question 24

How do I add products or results to a quiz?

Accepted Answer

The products, places or ideas people are matched to.
Switch the editor to Results. The bar at the bottom offers Add result, Choose existing (from your Results library) and Quick add from other quizzes, plus Import and Export or share.
A result has a Result title, a Result description, an optional image, a Hyperlink (for example a product page) and an optional location.
Give each result its Result features so answers can find it. A result with no features can only appear through direct result links, or tie at the bottom.

Question 25

How do I reuse the same results across several quizzes?

Accepted Answer

One place for every result across your quizzes.
The Results tab lists every unique result across your quizzes. Results with identical details share one entry.
• Editing in the Results tab updates every quiz that uses that result.
• Editing inside a quiz changes only that quiz.
• Used in quizzes adds or removes the result from quizzes.
• Filters show results In several quizzes or Not in any quiz.
Import accepts .json, .csv and .quizbuilder files; Export or share all creates a .json with images included.

Question 26

How do I stop quiz results from clearing after two minutes?

Accepted Answer

What people see at the end, and when results clear themselves.
People see Your ranked matches: the Top match, then Match #2 and onward, each with its description, what it Matched on, and Open link when it has a hyperlink. Take quiz again and Clear results start over straight away.
Edit the quiz title to choose Clear results automatically:
• Device quizzes (the default): on a device running the quiz for customers, results clear after two minutes, with a 30-second warning and Keep results displayed. On websites they stay, since each visitor has their own screen.
• Everywhere: results also clear after two minutes on websites, for a quiz running in a shared browser.
• Never: results stay until someone takes the quiz again.
Publish or share the quiz again after changing this.

Question 27

How do I send people to different questions based on their answers?

Accepted Answer

Send people to different questions based on their answers.
Edit an answer → Routing:
• Radio and Multi: If selected, route to a question.
• Text and Paragraph: add keyword routes (Keywords → When matched, route to).
• Scale: add range routes (Scenario low and high → When matched, route to).
Without a route, the next question follows. When several routes apply, the most recently triggered one wins.
Only the questions someone actually passes through count toward their results. The Routing preview in the editor shows where the selected answers lead.

Question 28

How do I track sales from a quiz on my WooCommerce store?

Accepted Answer

How store visits, add to carts and orders are credited to quizzes.
With the Selfscovery Quizzes plugin and WooCommerce:
1. When a visitor clicks a result link into your store, the link is tagged with the quiz and result.
2. The store notes it in WooCommerce’s shopping session (about two days, same browser).
3. Add to carts during that session are counted, and an order is credited once it is paid (Processing or Completed). Refunds and cancellations are taken back out.
The whole order is credited, even if they bought something else, to the last quiz result they clicked. Links to other websites count as clicks only.

Question 29

How do I add a budget or range slider to a quiz?

Accepted Answer

Range sliders, such as budget, size or how often.
Set the answer type to Scale. Write the Scale descriptor (for example “Budget in dollars”), set a Low value and High value with Apply, and choose the Default range people start with.
Feature weights on a scale answer have a Feature range low and high. The weight applies when the person’s selected range sits entirely inside it.
Example: Budget 0–500. Feature Premium +8 for the range 300–500; feature Value +8 for 0–150.
Turn on Budget to make the slider a price filter: results priced outside the chosen range are left out, including live store rankings, while results without a price always stay. The ends of the scale mean no limit (“Up to $80”, “$40 or more”), so set the High value a little above the dearest result. Unit adds a symbol such as $ or €.

Question 30

How do I share or embed a quiz on a website?

Accepted Answer

Every way to get a quiz in front of people.
Tap Share quiz on a quiz’s row:
• Preview: take the quiz on this device, then Exit preview back to the app.
• Device quiz: run it on this device for customers.
• Publish to WordPress: put it on your site, ready to drag onto pages.
• Publish to Shopify: one script file for Shopify Files, placed on any page with a Custom Liquid section (see Shopify).
• Share interactive HTML / Save interactive HTML: a single web page with the whole quiz, for any website or email.
• Share editor file / Save editor file: an editable .quizbuilder file for another Selfscovery user, or a backup.
Preview, sharing, exporting, publishing and Device quiz are part of Selfscovery Pro (see Pricing and subscription).

Question 31

How do I add a product recommendation quiz to my Shopify store?

Accepted Answer

Rank your whole Shopify store with a quiz, live, on any page.
Create quiz → Create from Shopify reads your whole catalogue: enter the store’s address (such as mystore.myshopify.com). Nothing to set up; only a password-protected store, such as a development store, needs its storefront password.
Answers weigh collections, product types, vendors, tags, options such as “Color: Red”, and On sale, In stock, Lower price (cheapest first) and Best sellers (Shopify’s best-selling order). A quiz built by hand gets a budget question.
To publish: Share quiz → Publish to Shopify. Save the quiz script, upload it in your Shopify admin under Content → Files, then in Online Store → Themes → Customize add a Custom Liquid section to any page and paste the line Selfscovery shows. To update the quiz, save the script again and use Replace on the file. Publishing is part of Selfscovery Pro.
Quizzes don’t have to come from the store: any quiz can be published to Shopify and shows its own results.
With Live results on, the published quiz ranks every product, new ones included, in the shopper’s browser when they finish: it reads the catalogue straight from your store, so nothing is hosted anywhere else. If the store can’t be read, the quiz shows its saved results. Device quizzes on a device connected to the store rank live too.

Question 32

How do I change a quiz’s fonts, colors and images?

Accepted Answer

Make the quiz look like your brand.
• Quiz-wide: edit the quiz title, switch to Entire quiz, then set the font and text color. Quiz colors sets Outer (page background) and Content (cards).
• Results: the Results appearance card sets the font, text color and background of the results screen.
• Any item: its own Font and Text color, or Use quiz-wide font and color.
• Images: every title, question, answer and result can have an image; Crop it to fit.
Fonts can come from this device (Scan device fonts) or a .ttf or .otf file you import. Fonts and images travel inside published and shared quizzes.

Question 33

How do I contact Selfscovery or ask for a custom build?

Accepted Answer

How to reach us, and how to ask for a quiz, integration or custom version built for you.
Email info@selfscovery.com. Say which device you use and what happened; a screenshot helps. For a cloud AI problem, include the diagnostic (Copy diagnostic). Never send passwords, keys or database logins.
Subscriptions are billed by your app store, so cancellations and refunds go through Apple, Google or Microsoft (see Pricing and subscription).
Custom builds and projects: we design quizzes from your catalogue, connect Selfscovery to your own store, database, CRM or booking system, and make custom-branded versions of the app or the WordPress plugin. Email info@selfscovery.com with what you have in mind, roughly how many products or results it involves, and when you need it.
More at selfscovery.com/support.

Question 34

Can my team share one Selfscovery subscription?

Accepted Answer

Working on quizzes with teammates, and using Selfscovery on more than one device.
A subscription belongs to the Apple Account, Google account or Microsoft account that bought it. On another device signed into the same account, tap Restore purchases on the Pro screen.
Teammates who publish, share, preview or see analytics need their own subscription on their own account. Building and editing are free for everyone.
To pass a quiz to a teammate, use Share quiz → Share editor file. They open it with Create quiz → Import editor file and can edit and publish it from their own Selfscovery.
Database and store logins stay on the device that added them, so each teammate connects their own.

Question 35

How do I make a product quiz from my WooCommerce store?

Accepted Answer

Rank your whole store with a quiz, live, and track sales.
Create quiz → Create from WooCommerce ranks your whole catalogue. Connect your site in the WordPress tab first and it signs in by itself (Build from store products); or enter the store’s address with a WordPress user and an application password, or WooCommerce REST API keys (Consumer key and secret, Read permission).
Answers weigh: categories (a category includes the ones below it), tags, global attributes as “Color: Red”, and Featured, On sale, In stock, Lower price (cheapest first), Highly rated and Best sellers. Choose the attributes, try a ranking, and build the quiz with AI or by hand; a quiz built by hand gets a budget question.
The quiz keeps the best products as results, so shared quizzes work anywhere. Refresh it from the quiz list when products change. Leave out products in Store settings; they never appear, even live.
Turn on Live results to rank every product, new ones included, when someone finishes: on the store’s own site with the Selfscovery Quizzes plugin 0.6 or newer (nothing to set up), and in a Device quiz on a device connected to the store.
To choose specific products instead, use Create quiz → Pick WooCommerce products.
Publish the quiz to the same site to track store visits, add to carts and sales (see Sales tracking).

Question 36

How do I add a quiz to my WordPress site?

Accepted Answer

Publish quizzes to your site and place them on any page.
1. Install the free Selfscovery Quizzes plugin (Plugins → Add New in WordPress).
2. In the WordPress tab, enter your site address and choose Approve in WordPress, or click a Start in the app button on the plugin’s page.
3. Publish a quiz you built. WordPress opens with the quiz ready to place.
4. In the block editor, open the inserter (+), search “Selfscovery”, and drag your quiz into place. Classic themes and page builders can use the [selfscovery_quiz id="…"] shortcode.
Publishing again updates the quiz everywhere it appears. Quiz blocks stop at 720px tall by default and scroll inside; turn off Limit height in the block settings to let a quiz grow to fit.
Database quizzes with Live results on can rank the whole table for each visitor: publish from the device with the database connection, then add a read-only login for the database in WordPress under Selfscovery → Live rankings (plugin 0.4.0 or newer). Until then, and whenever the database can’t answer, the quiz shows its saved results.
Live rankings and the plugin’s analytics screen follow your Selfscovery Pro subscription (plugin 0.7.0 or newer): the app tells the site until when Pro is paid for whenever it publishes or opens. If Pro ends, quizzes keep working with their saved results.
